Trip Itinerary
Your safari begins with a pick-up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali by your professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, begin the scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills toward the Uganda border.
Cross into Uganda via the Katuna border and continue to the vibrant town of Kabale where you will stop for lunch. From here, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, check in, and relax while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the rainforest.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers about gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines.
You will then be assigned a gorilla family and begin your trek into the dense forest. The trek may take between one and several hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Along the way, your ranger guide will explain the forest ecosystem, wildlife, and conservation efforts.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat—watching them feed, groom, and interact with each other.
After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit a nearby community or Batwa village to learn about the local culture.

Today offers flexible options to deepen your Bwindi experience. After breakfast, choose one of the following activities:
- Second Gorilla Trek: Visit another gorilla family in a different sector of Bwindi for a new trekking experience.
- Gorilla Habituation Experience: Spend up to four hours with a semi-habituated gorilla group alongside researchers and conservationists in the Rushaga sector.
- Guided Forest Walk or Birding Tour: Explore the rainforest on foot with experienced guides while learning about the plants, wildlife, and over 350 bird species found in Bwindi.
After your chosen activity, return to the lodge in the afternoon to relax and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin the scenic drive back to Kigali. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of southwestern Uganda and northern Rwanda along the way.
Depending on your schedule, you may stop for lunch, souvenir shopping, or a short visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Upon arrival in Kigali, your driver-guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your flight or at your hotel if you are extending your stay.
