Trip Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali by your professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, you will begin your scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills—often referred to as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.”
After approximately 2.5 hours, you will reach the Katuna border where you will cross into Uganda. From here, continue to Kabale town where you will stop for lunch before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Arrive at your lodge in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi in the late afternoon. Check in, relax, and enjoy dinner as you prepare for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla habituation experience.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers about the gorilla habituation experience. You will join a small group accompanied by researchers and trackers who are working with a semi-habituated gorilla family.
With your packed lunch, begin the trek into the dense rainforest. The hike can vary in difficulty depending on the location of the gorillas, but the experience is incredibly rewarding.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend up to four hours observing them in their natural environment. This extended time allows you to closely observe their behavior as they feed, groom, play, and interact with each other.
During the experience, researchers may share insights into gorilla conservation and behavior, and you may even participate in simple observation activities such as identifying individual gorillas.
After the trek, return to the park headquarters where you will receive a certificate confirming your participation in the gorilla habituation experience.
Return to your lodge for relaxation and dinner. If time permits, you may choose to take an optional community walk to learn about the local culture and life near Bwindi Forest.

Stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Kigali. Upon arrival, your driver-guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your onward flight or at your hotel if you are extending your stay.
