Trip Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a warm welcome in Kigali, where your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or the airport. As you leave the clean streets of Rwanda’s capital, the drive winds through lush hills and terraced landscapes—earning Rwanda its nickname, the “Land of a Thousand Hills.”
After about 2.5 hours, you’ll reach the Katuna border, where you’ll cross into Uganda. A short drive later brings you to Kabale town, where you’ll stop for lunch and stretch your legs before continuing the scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Arrive at your lodge in the Rushaga sector, nestled on the forest edge. Spend your evening unwinding as the mist settles over the treetops, enjoying dinner and preparing for tomorrow’s special experience.

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing about the gorilla habituation experience. This process, led by experienced researchers and rangers, allows you to join a small group visiting a gorilla family that is still getting used to human presence.
With your packed lunch in hand, you’ll set off into the jungle. The trek can be moderately challenging, depending on where the gorilla group is located, but the reward is extraordinary—you’ll spend up to four hours with the gorillas once they are located.
Watch the dynamics of the group unfold as they go about their daily routines—feeding, grooming, playing, or simply resting. You may even get to assist researchers in activities like sample collection, behavior documentation, or even suggesting names for the gorillas.
After this immersive wildlife encounter, you’ll return to the headquarters where you’ll receive a certificate to mark your successful gorilla habituation trek.
