Trip Itinerary

Your safari guide from Bamba Safaris will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala, Entebbe, or Mbarara. After a short briefing, begin your scenic journey to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through local markets and rural towns.

Along the way, stop at the Equator for photography and fun experiments, and visit Mpambire village to see traditional royal drum making in action.

Arrive in the park in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by some relaxation. Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive where you might spot zebras, impalas, topis, buffaloes, and warthogs as the sun sets.

Wake up early for a morning game drive in the park’s acacia-dotted savannas. This is the best time to catch animals while they are still active. Look out for herds of zebras, elands, impalas, buffaloes, waterbucks, and perhaps even a leopard or a reclusive lion if you’re lucky. Lake Mburo is also excellent for birdwatching.

After your game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest.

In the afternoon, head to the lake for a relaxing boat cruise. Glide across the calm waters of Lake Mburo and watch hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species including the African fish eagle and the elusive African finfoot. The lakeshore is a favorite spot for animals like buffaloes and antelopes to gather for a drink.
