Morning – Arrival & Kigali City Excursion

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome from our professional driver-guide at Kigali International Airport or your hotel. Before heading north, enjoy a short city tour of Kigali. Depending on your interests and available time, you may visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local craft markets, or cultural sites to gain a deeper understanding of Rwanda’s history and remarkable recovery.

Afternoon – Scenic Drive to Volcanoes National Park

After the city tour, depart Kigali for Volcanoes National Park in the Musanze region. The scenic drive takes you through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, with rolling hills, terraced farmland, and breathtaking landscapes that truly reflect the country’s nickname, the Land of a Thousand Hills.

Evening – Arrival & Relaxation

Upon arrival, check in at your selected lodge and relax as you prepare for your exciting gorilla trekking experience the following day. Enjoy dinner at the lodge while surrounded by the peaceful mountain environment.

Early Morning – Trekking Briefing

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters where you will receive a comprehensive briefing from park rangers. During this briefing, you will learn about gorilla trekking guidelines, safety measures, and conservation efforts before being assigned a gorilla family based on your fitness level.

Morning to Midday – Gorilla Trekking Adventure

Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, you will venture into the dense tropical forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can take between one and four hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once located, you will spend one magical hour observing these incredible primates as they feed, groom, and interact within their family group. This rare encounter is widely considered one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences in the world.

Afternoon – Return to Lodge

After the trek, return to your lodge where you can relax, freshen up, and reflect on the unforgettable experience of meeting mountain gorillas in the wild. Enjoy dinner and a peaceful evening at the lodge.

Morning – Drive Back to Kigali

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the drive back to Kigali. If you did not visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial on the first day, you may have an opportunity to stop there along the way.

Afternoon – Lunch & Drop-off

Enjoy lunch in Kigali before being dropped off either at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
