Trip Itinerary
Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala by your professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, you’ll begin your scenic journey southwest towards Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – a drive of approximately 9–10 hours.
Along the way, you’ll stop at the Equator crossing for photo opportunities and a chance to witness a fun water experiment that demonstrates how the Earth’s hemispheres work. Lunch will be served in Mbarara, before continuing through the terraced highlands of Kabale and into the dramatic volcanic landscapes of Kisoro.
Upon arrival at your lodge, check in, relax, and enjoy dinner.

After an early breakfast, your driver will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll learn about the gorilla trekking rules and guidelines before beginning your trek.
Mgahinga is home to one habituated family – the Nyakagezi group, known for its stability and now permanently residing in Uganda after years of cross-border movements with Rwanda.
Once you locate the gorillas, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat – a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounter. After your trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.
