Trip Itinerary
Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala by your professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, embark on a scenic drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Along the way, enjoy a cultural stop at the Mpambire Royal Drum Makers and take memorable photos at the Uganda Equator crossing. Lunch will be served in Mbarara at either Igongo Cultural Centre or Agip Motel, depending on timing.
The journey continues through Ntungamo’s plains, the rolling hills of Kabale, and into the scenic terraced highlands of Kisoro before arriving at your lodge in the evening.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking adventure. A ranger from the Uganda Wildlife Authority will verify your permit and conduct a briefing about gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines.
You will then begin your guided hike into the forest in search of the Nyakagezi gorilla family, the park’s only habituated gorilla group. Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they interact, feed, and relax in their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast, return to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for either a golden monkey trekking experience or a golden monkey habituation experience.
Golden monkey trekking allows you to spend one hour observing these lively primates as they move through the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains. For a deeper experience, you can choose the golden monkey habituation activity, which allows more time with researchers studying these endangered monkeys.
After the activity, return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
