This 3 Day Mountain Rwenzori Hiking Adventure is perfect for travelers who want to experience Uganda’s famous “Mountains of the Moon” but have limited time. Rising to 5,109 meters above sea level, the Rwenzori Mountains are among the most scenic and dramatic mountain ranges in East Africa.
This short hiking safari takes you into the lower altitudes of Rwenzori Mountains National Park where you will trek through lush Afro-montane forests, discover beautiful waterfalls, and enjoy incredible views of the surrounding valleys. Depending on your interests and fitness level, the trek can follow either the Central Circuit or the Kilembe Trail.
The Rwenzori Mountains lie near the Equator in western Uganda and are known for their glacier-capped peaks, misty landscapes, and rich biodiversity. This tour is suitable for experienced trekkers as well as nature lovers seeking a short mountain adventure.
Your journey begins with a pick-up from Entebbe or Kampala and ends with a return transfer to Entebbe. Accommodation, meals, and basic mountain camping gear are included. Luxury upgrades with deluxe lodging and private transfers are also available upon request.

Trip Itinerary
After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up and begin the scenic drive west toward Kasese, the gateway town to the Rwenzori Mountains. The journey takes approximately seven hours and passes through Uganda’s beautiful countryside.
Along the way, you will stop for lunch in Mubende before continuing the drive toward the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival in Kasese, check into your hotel and relax as you prepare for the trekking adventure the following day.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters where your mountain trekking adventure begins. The hike starts at around 1,450 meters and gradually climbs through dense Afro-montane forest to Sine Camp at 2,680 meters.
The trail passes through lush vegetation with giant trees, bamboo forests, and moss-covered vines. Along the way, you may encounter wildlife such as blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and a variety of bird species.
You will also pass Enock’s Falls, a beautiful waterfall located about 300 meters from Sine Camp, offering a great opportunity for photographs and a short rest.
Sine Camp consists of simple wooden huts surrounded by tall forest trees, providing a peaceful overnight stay in the mountains.
Optional for experienced hikers: Continue to Kalalama Camp (3,134m) to gain more altitude and enjoy better views from Mutinda Lookout the following day.

After an early breakfast, begin your descent through the forest back to the base of the mountain. Enjoy the fresh mountain air and scenic views as you complete your hike.
Once you reach the starting point, meet your driver-guide and begin the return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. Along the way, stop for lunch before continuing the drive back to the city.
You will arrive in the evening in time for your onward flight or overnight stay.
