Trip Itinerary

Day 01 : Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with En Route Birding

Your birding safari begins with a drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, enjoy several birding stopovers where you may spot species such as the Woolly-necked Stork, Lilac-breasted Roller, and Rufous-bellied Heron.

You will also stop at the Uganda Equator crossing for photographs and a short break. Continue the journey to Lake Mburo National Park and check into your lodge upon arrival. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the next day’s birding activities.

Day 02: Full Day Birding in Lake Mburo National Park

Start the day with a guided nature walk accompanied by an armed ranger as you search for savannah and woodland bird species. This walking experience provides a unique opportunity to observe birds and wildlife up close.

Later, continue with a game and birding drive through the park where you may see wildlife such as zebras, impalas, elands, and buffaloes while searching for notable bird species including:

Day 03: Morning Birding Drive & Return to Entebbe

After breakfast, enjoy a final birding drive through Lake Mburo National Park as you begin the journey back to Entebbe or Kampala. This is a good opportunity to look for species that may have been missed earlier, including the elusive Papyrus Gonolek.

You will stop for lunch along the way before continuing to your final destination.
