Trip Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel, you’ll be warmly greeted by our professional driver-guide. Your adventure begins with a short but insightful city tour of Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and most vibrant capitals. Depending on time and interest, you may visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local craft markets, or cultural centers—an enriching introduction to Rwanda’s past and present.
In the early afternoon, embark on a scenic drive through the rolling countryside as you head north toward Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. En route, admire the lush terraced hillsides and panoramic views of the Virunga volcanoes—a photographer’s dream and a perfect preview of the natural beauty to come.
Upon arrival at your lodge, check in and relax with a delicious late lunch or early dinner. Enjoy the tranquility of the forested surroundings as you prepare for your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience the following day.

After an early breakfast, head to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a detailed briefing by park rangers. You’ll learn about the trekking protocols, gorilla conservation efforts, and be assigned a gorilla family group based on your fitness level.
Led by experienced guides, you’ll begin your trek into the dense rainforest. The hike can take 1–4 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is immeasurable—an hour spent in the presence of mountain gorillas is a deeply humbling and emotional experience. Watch them feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat, just meters away.
After this extraordinary encounter, you’ll return to the park headquarters where you’ll receive a trekking certificate as a memento. Then, drive back to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon or evening. Depending on your travel plans, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport in time for your onward flight.

- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
- The tour start at 5:30am but the pickup times will be between 4am and 5:30am
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
