This immersive 8 Day Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Adventure takes you deep into the heart of Uganda’s most iconic national parks. Your journey begins with a visit to Lake Mburo National Park, where you’ll enjoy a scenic game drive and a relaxing boat ride. From there, the tour takes you south to the misty jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience. Continuing on to Queen Elizabeth National Park, you’ll witness an abundance of wildlife during game drives and a cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The adventure concludes in Kibale Forest National Park with chimpanzee tracking and a walk through the Bigodi Wetlands. Finally, you’ll return to Entebbe, bringing your incredible Uganda safari to a close.

Trip Itinerary

Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, or directly from the airport. After a warm welcome, you’ll begin your journey southwest to Lake Mburo National Park, with a stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photographs and a brief demonstration of the Coriolis effect.

Upon arrival at the park, you’ll enjoy a hot lunch at the lodge and an en-route game drive. Later in the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you’ll spot hippos, crocodiles, and an array of bird species. The day concludes with a sunset game drive before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, depart Lake Mburo with a final game drive as you exit the park. You’ll continue southwest through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, with rolling hills, banana and tea plantations, and scenic villages en route.

Enjoy a lunch stop along the way before arriving in Bwindi in the late afternoon. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed at your lodge, check in, relax, and enjoy a hearty dinner before preparing for the next day’s gorilla trek.

This is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, you’ll be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette. With your packed lunch, join a group of trekkers and expert guides as you begin the trek into the dense rainforest.

The duration of the trek can range from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the movement of the gorilla family. Once located, you’ll have one magical hour to observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat—an experience that’s both humbling and unforgettable.

After the trek, return to the park headquarters to receive your trekking certificate, then head back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Following breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive north to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This scenic route offers photo opportunities and panoramic views of the rift valley, tea plantations, and local communities.

After checking in and enjoying lunch at your lodge, head out in the evening for a game drive through the Kasenyi savannah plains. Keep your eyes open for herds of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and—if lucky—predators such as lions and leopards.

Start the day with a sunrise game drive through the Kasenyi plains, where early risers like lions, hyenas, and leopards are often seen hunting or patrolling their territory. Return to your lodge for lunch before heading to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise in the afternoon.

This boat safari offers excellent views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and numerous water birds like kingfishers, pelicans, and African fish eagles along the channel banks.

After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in Queen Elizabeth’s northern section before heading to Fort Portal. You’ll stop here for lunch and some optional souvenir shopping.

In the afternoon, proceed to your lodge near Kibale Forest National Park, where you’ll relax and prepare for chimpanzee trekking the following day.

Begin your day with a briefing at the Kibale park headquarters before heading into the forest for chimpanzee tracking. Guided by park rangers, you’ll search for one of the habituated chimp families. Once found, you’ll spend an hour observing their social interactions, feeding behavior, and grooming routines.

After lunch at the lodge, you’ll take a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, an excellent spot for birdwatching and observing other primates such as colobus monkeys and mangabeys.

After breakfast, begin the return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. Enjoy the final scenic drive through Uganda’s lush countryside, stopping in Mubende for lunch.

You will be dropped off at your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe or directly at Entebbe International Airport for your evening flight home, marking the end of your unforgettable 8-day Gorilla Tracking Safari in Uganda.
