Trip Itinerary
Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala by our professional driver-guide. After a short briefing and equipment check, embark on a scenic drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Along the way, enjoy a cultural stop at the Mpambire royal drum makers, and take stunning photos at the Equator crossing. Lunch will be served in Mbarara, either at Igongo Cultural Centre or Agip Motel, depending on timing.
The journey continues through Ntungamo’s flat plains, the rolling hills of Kabale, and into the terraced highlands of Kisoro. You’ll arrive in the evening for check-in, dinner, and overnight at your selected lodge.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking adventure. A Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger will verify your passport and lead a pre-trek briefing on gorilla tracking rules and safety guidelines.
You will then hike into the forest to locate the Nyakagezi gorilla family, the park’s only habituated group. Once located, you’ll spend a magical one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
After your trek, return to the lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and recount the day’s unforgettable moments.

Today you will head back to the park for either a golden monkey trekking experience (1-hour encounter) or a golden monkey habituation experience (a full-day activity with researchers).
Both activities offer a rare chance to see these playful, endangered primates up close. You’ll be briefed by park rangers before venturing into the forest to observe the monkeys as they leap through the bamboo and moss-covered trees.
Afterward, return to your lodge for a well-earned rest, dinner, and overnight stay.
